Please find below the links to the tasks for Smartboard PD.

This PD day is around using a variety of features of the Notebook 10 software.

It is also focused on:
  • using an online learning environment to present content
  • self directed, just in time teaching
  • using a collaborative tool to communicate
  • creating resources to share

Use the links below to work your way through the series of lessons/resources and activities. All the information required to complete any tasks will be provided on the each page and requires you to either watch a video or download and read a pdf document. A large part also requires you to take some risks with your own learning and try different things within the Notebook software by exploring it and trying different ways to complete the tasks.

A big part of this session is learning by doing and learning by trying, which is what we want our students to do as well. Also, as a teacher we very rarely get time to 'play' so take the time to enjoy pressing all the buttons to see what they do. You can't break anything!

PD Day evaluation

As a way of evaluating the PD on SmartBoards I would ask all participants to leave a comment in the discussion tab for this page focusing on the following.
  1. The use of the wiki to deliver the content.
  2. The 'self directed' approach to the tasks
  3. Ways you could see yourself using a wiki as an online resource/content/curriculum tool for your classes/subject areas.
  4. Any other thoughts about the session.
